Why We Built This Site
Marion County court records are kept by separate custodians. The Marion County Clerk of Courts, Legal Division, handles Common Pleas General Division records; the Family Division has its own route; and Marion Municipal Court keeps its countywide municipal files. Public eAccess and CaseLook are also different search systems. This resource organizes those choices so a reader can start with the court that actually owns the record.
What You Will Find Here
- Docket routes: local explanations for criminal and civil dockets.
- Setting information: ways to check a court date or hearing setting.
- Search details: how to use a case search by court, case number, or party information.
- Clerk channels: how court records and certified copies are requested from the right custodian.
What We Cannot Do
This is a privately operated reference resource, not an Ohio court or government office. It cannot retrieve an official docket, change a setting, remove or seal a record, issue a certified copy, or give advice about a particular case.
- Only a court can set, reset, or cancel a hearing.
- Only the record custodian can certify a docket, order, or case file.
- Only the court can grant sealing, expungement, or other case relief.
- Current docket details should be verified with the originating clerk or court.
The official record comes from the court or clerk that maintains it. A public search screen is useful for locating that record, but it is not a substitute for certification.
Search Partners
Some pages include a search widget provided by a third party. That provider operates its own service and sets its own terms or prices. A referral fee may be received when a user follows a paid option. Such a service does not replace the official Marion County court or clerk record route.
